BigCold Delivers COVID Vaccines
Nairobi, Kenya – April 15, 2021 – BigCold Logistics, Kenya’s leading cold storage and logistics company, announced today that it has successfully distributed COVID-19 vaccines as part of the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) initiative. BigCold is partnered with the Kenyan Ministry of Health, DHL Global, and Freight Forwarders Kenya to support the distribution of vaccines under the COVAX.
“BigCold is committed to supporting positive health outcomes across Kenya,” said Newton Matope, President of BigCold. “To date, BigCold has distributed approximately four million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech, Astra Zeneca, and Moderna vaccines, completing shipments to regional hospitals, referral hospitals, and vaccine storage centres, where vaccines are delivered and administered to local communities.”
BigCold has also provided cold chain transportation and distribution of malaria vaccines, HIV test kits, and COVID-19 reagents, providing valuable support to the Government and communities in the provision of public health services and demonstrating the long-standing trust BigCold has earned from public health institutions.
