BigCold Celebrates First Anniversary
As we celebrate our first anniversary, BigCold likes to thank our team and our customers for bestowing on us the trust that today make us a leader in cold storage and logistics in East Africa from our hub facility in Nairobi. One year into operations, we are partnered with some of Kenya’s leading food producers and restaurants to outsource storage and distribution of their products.
Today, BigCold is the only FSSC 22000 certified company for transport, storage and distribution in East Africa and the only logistics provider in Kenya that meets the strict food safety standards of Yum! Brands – the company behind KFC and Pizza Hut.
We operate a state-of-the-art distribution center that allows for effective receiving, storage and distribution of goods from dozens of suppliers to more than 60 retail outlets across Kenya. We manage clients’ products in reliable, temperature-controlled vehicles and storage facilities, providing frozen, chilled, ambient-controlled and ambient storage with real-time temperature monitoring systems and backup power generators.
We also implemented a world-class LFS® Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) that offers traceability for products; real-time reports on inventory movement and expiry dates; batch management; and, monitoring of deliveries to optimize the efficacy of our clients’ supply chains.
